A study of MPs’ work has shown that Glenda Jackson is London’s least active MP. Excluding votes, Parliament’s official record shows her appearing just 40 times in the four-and-a-half years since the last election – 10 of her 40 contributions were made in just one debate.

I need your help this weekend to help raise awareness of the real and present threat to the world’s climate. On Saturday 5 December 2009 thousands of people from across the UK will take to the street to demonstrate their support for a safe climate future for all.
The actual Copenhagen Talks take place from 7th – 17th December and in order to raise awareness and give our UK politicians greater confidence to go and fight to stop the damage we are doing to the planet there is a day of action taking place here in England.

Monday Update: early on Monday morning, we gathered outside the TfL HQ in the wind, rain and cold to hand out leaflets to TfL employees. We explained our 9 demands (listed on this site), and haned out an eight-page document containing all the comments from local residents who filled in our petition.
For most of 2009 both the Jubilee Line and the Overground North London Line have been closed at weekends - the Metropolitan line is often closed too - and now the works are overrunning.

Popular local newspaper, the Ham & High, has described Ed Fordham as the “Barack Obama of Hampstead” after he received a visit from Governor Howard Dean during a visit to Hampstead. Mr Dean, a frontrunner for the Democratic presidental nomination in 2004 and former Chairman of the Democratic National Congress, played a central role in Barack Obama’s landmark victory in 2008. The Governor’s visit is sure to be a tremendous boost to Ed’s attempt to gain the 474 votes that he needs to win in Hampstead and Kilburn.

On Thursday 19th November, local residents attended the third hustings of the year (and the second at Rosslyn Hill Chapel) in the race for the new parliamentary seat of Hampstead and Kilburn. The questions ranged from MPs’ expenses to immigration and the BNP and the war in Afghanistan.

Many of you have been in touch about the disruption to the Jubilee, Metropolitan and North London Lines so I thought you would be interested in an update following latest information from Transport for London. Sadly - there isn't much good news!
The worst news is that we've just heard that the track-laying work on the Jubilee Line which has led to the regular weekend closures is running seriously behind time, and is going to have to extend into the New Year. As well as general over-running apparently they
