Ed Fordham tipped to winA study by the Ham and High newspaper has concluded that Ed Fordham is the candidate most in tune with local people.  The independent panel consisted of traders and residents groups, campaigners, patients groups, arts representatives, schools, police panel leaders, and the Heath and Hampstead Society. Topics they raised ranged from immigration, small businesses and basement developments to education, bus passes and community policing.

The candidates gave their responses and these were passed back to the questioners to mark anonymously - so they weren't told which candidate had given which answer.

Local Lib Dem campaigner topped the poll with 65 points: Glenda Jackson trailed far behind with just 34.

"I'm very flattered by the results of the Ham & High's study," said Ed.  "I suppose it shows that living here and being involved in a wide range of different community groups does make you more in tune with what local people feel and think."

"I've always believed that a hard-working local MP can make a difference to an area," he added. "This week I am asking residents to elect someone who will stand up for everyone and get involved in the local issues that matter."
