I emailed her last week, but was so worried at the lack of response that yesterday morning I hand-delivered a copy of my letter to Central Lobby in the House of Commons. I still haven't had a reply electronically and find it unlikely to get a reply in reality. Looking through the record of the debate there is no evidence i can find for our MP being there not voting in the divisions. To say I feel let down is to under-estimate things. This is a significant development and we were unrepresented by our MP. The Hansard record of the debate commences here: David Howarth's speech starts here and is well worth a read: It's quite a long speech but impressive, David demonstrates a mastery of the detail and a comprehensive understanding of the broad risks inherent in the proposed Bill. The BBC report is here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/7852480.stm |

Yesterday's Coroners and Justice Bill was debated for a second reading in the House of Commons - it has wide-ranging consequences on data-sharing and data protection and I wrote to my MP Glenda Jackson asking for some participation in the debate.
